Omulu Guanabara New York is happy to announce our 2011 martial arts "Rodathon" - a circle of capoeira students from Omulu Capoeira Guanabara who are raising money and awareness about the art of capoeira in New York. A "roda" is a circle of martial arts, music, and improvisation, following the tradition of the Afro-Brazaillian martial art of Capoeira.
Please join us to support Omulu Capoeira Guanabara New York Rodathon!
By participating in this event, you are helping to continue a decades-old tradition of arts exchange between New York and Brazil.
By supporting my participation, you are getting us one step closer to achieving our annual summer Batizado, where the most talented artists in capoeira travel to New York from around the world to host public workshops and performances.
Each $5 of your contribution will support one student's matches or 'games' in the Rodathon. Please make your check for $5, $10, $50, or $100 to OMULU NYC. You can also donate via paypal to omuluny@gmail.com. You will receive a receipt from me for your contribution*, and you will be thanked on the Omulu website (http://nyc.omulu.org/) for your support.
Please help us continue the international exchanges, performances, and ceremonies that have sustained the rich capoeira culture here in New York. Together, we will continue these traditions.
Thank you in advance,
Omulu Capoeira Guanabara
P.S. Please note: this contribution is not yet tax-deductible. We are working toward the 501c3 status that will enable tax deductibility. In the meantime, I appreciate your support even more. Feel free to send any questions or concerns directly to omuluny@gmail.com
